I wish I had photos from my camp experience. I was having too much fun to snap photos. I went to Camp Firefly for diabetics in Springmount, PA. Have you tried connecting with schools torrid book. Sometimes schools pay you for an hour of your time with the hopes of getting 1 autograph book for their library. Contact you elementary and high school. AAd an interactive lesson plan with the fee: http://www.lessonplan.com or create your own. Allow fee back during lesson and share poignant and humorous tales. Going rate for interactive lesson (group of 60) is $250

OMG, thank you so-oo-o much! Sure, I’ve thought of this idea and even did some footwork on it by contacting a few local college English department. Due to polite rejections, I did not pursue this endeavor. Sometimes I just get so tired. Diabetes wipes me out. Too much to think about when making plans and having to make plans. I stay home and write! Feedback is appreciated! Good to hear from you! Andrea.

You’lll get better reception from elementary and high schools. They love when alumni return. With the recession you can ask, “How much can you afford for an hour, or an hour and a half engagement?” Have an objective, sing some camp songs, ask kids what they remember about camp, ask if they know any PWD or CWD. Use KWL: What they Know, what the want to know, what have they learned (after leaden is complete). If a school agrees on $250 give them 2 autographed books. If they agree on less give them 1 autograph book.

tailor this to your experience. Present idea to family members with kids and use them as a trial run. They can give you a tips on what they like or don’t like. You can change lession for age level
